Hi Charles, Thanks for reaching out. We can do an on-site arborist assessment and written recommendation to determine whether the cherry can be saved or should be removed. Our on-site assessment fee is $600 to $800. The lower end applies for easy access, small to medium tree size, and straightforward findings. The higher end applies for limited backyard access, heavy decay around the trunk, or if work near the house or power lines is likely. If removal is required, a typical range for a medium cherry is roughly $500 to $1,200. Factors that push the price higher include significant decay, work close to structures, limited access, or the need for complex rigging or a bucket truck. If possible to salvage the tree with pruning or repairs, a typical range is about $500 to $850. Please send clear photos of the trunk damage and let us know the tree height or trunk diameter, how close it is to your house or fences, and whether there are overhead lines. That information will help refine costs before the visit. We can schedule a quick site visit at your convenience and you do not need to be home for our assessment. Preferred contact is by phone at the number you provided and we are flexible with timing. Thanks, and feel free to give us a shout if you have any questions, Max, Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161
