Hi Roberta, Thanks for the details. Based on your description I can provide an initial estimate to remove the crabapple (~20 ft) and to remove or significantly trim the two spruces (~30 ft each). Initial price range: $2,520 to $3,150, estimated total time about 6.5 to 9 hours. The lower end assumes good access, no close structures, and straightforward removals. The higher end covers tight access, work close to houses or lines, heavy deadwood, or complex rigging and disposal needs. We will need permission from your sister-in-law to remove her tree before scheduling. Could you send photos of each tree, confirm parking/access, and let us know if you want stumps ground? I can schedule a quick site visit to confirm scope and give a firm quote; you do not need to be home and we can be flexible with timing. Thanks, and feel free to give us a shout if you have any questions, Max, Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161

Remove a crabapple approx 20 ft tall with many dead branches. A large spruce ~30 ft on the corner either needs serious trimming or total removal. Neighbor (sister-in-law) has a spruce in front that she wants removed; properties are joined.

I will get back to you with pictures after I confirm my SIL is still interested. ________________________________ From: Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service <info@calgarytreecareservice.ca> Sent: July 26, 2026 8:45 AM To: robertacorbett@telus.net <robertacorbett@telus.net> Subject: Estimate for Roberta Corbett Hi Roberta, Thanks for the details. Hi Roberta, Sounds good, thanks for the update. Once you have confirmation from your sister-in-law, feel free to send the photos over and we can tighten up the estimate from there. If you can, please also let us know whether you want stump grinding included and whether parking/access is straightforward at the property. Hi Max, I have spoken with my sister-in-law regarding having her tree removed along with our two, and she is in total agreement. Her tree is really very lovely but she insists she doesn't want it anymore, plus there is the magpie issue she has. The crabapple tree is sick, and my husband wants it out. The big tree is just so very big. The city gave us a notice that they will be in the neighborhood sometime trimming some trees. Not sure if we were even included in that notice as all our neighbors got the notice. We haven't heard anything from them. As you can see, it is tall and pretty close to the lines, so I can understand their concern. We share the yard with our sister-in-law. Parking should not be an issue, but I am sure you will check that out anyway. Out of curiosity, do you offer a senior's rate? We are all seniors. Looking forward to hearing from you with a quote. Hi Roberta, Thanks for the update, and thanks for confirming your sister-in-law is on board. Based on what you've described, the job sounds like removal of the sick crabapple plus removal of the two spruces, with cleanup and disposal included. Since the larger spruce is tall and fairly close to the lines, I would want to treat this as a bucket truck job unless a site check shows otherwise. A reasonable working estimate at this stage is $2,880 to $4,320, not including stump grinding. The main factors are exact height and spread, how close the spruce is to the lines, and how straightforward the shared-yard access is once we see it in person. We do not have a formal senior's rate, but we always try to price fairly and keep the scope as efficient as possible. Because of the line proximity, the best next step would be a quick site visit so we can confirm the safest approach and provide a firm quote. I've passed that along to the owner, and they will contact you directly to coordinate scheduling. If you'd also like stump grinding included, feel free to mention that and we can add it to the quote. Thanks. Might as well do quote with and without stump grinding. Hi Roberta, Absolutely, we can quote it both ways. For the removal of the crabapple and the two spruces, with cleanup and disposal included, the current working estimate is $2,880 to $4,320 without stump grinding. If you would like stump grinding included as well, a reasonable preliminary range would be $3,480 to $5,220, assuming all three stumps are ground out. The main variables are the exact size of each stump, how close the large spruce is to the lines, and how straightforward access is in the shared yard. Because of that, a quick site visit is still the best way to firm everything up safely and accurately. I have passed that along to the owner, and they will contact you directly to coordinate scheduling. If you already know whether you would want all three stumps ground, or only one or two, feel free to let us know and we can narrow that down further. Maybe you should have a look at them. I will also speak to my husband about this. Hi Roberta, That makes sense, and I agree, having a look in person is the best next step here. Because of the size of the spruce and its proximity to the lines, I have passed this along to the owner and they will contact you directly to coordinate a site visit. In the meantime, feel free to speak with your husband and let us know if you are leaning toward removal only, or removal plus stump grinding, and we can keep the quote aligned with what you want. Hi Roberta, No problem at all, thanks for the update. Once you've had a chance to speak with your husband, just let us know how you'd like to proceed. I've already passed along the request for a site visit, and the owner will contact you directly to coordinate scheduling. If anything changes in the meantime, or if you decide whether you'd like stump grinding included, feel free to reply here. Best, Max Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161
