Hi Dana, A preliminary quote for pruning the four trees is $960 to $1,920. The lower end assumes small trees, easy front-yard access, and light thinning only. The higher end reflects medium or larger trees, heavy deadwood, tight or backyard access, proximity to structures or powerlines, or if a bucket truck is needed. To firm this up could you tell me each tree's approximate height, whether the trees are in the front or back yard and how tight access is, and if any structures or powerlines are close? Photos are very helpful. Also please confirm the fir only needs lower branches cut and not full removal. Based on what you described, 3 maples to be pruned plus cutting the lower branches on the dead fir, not full removal, with good access and no power lines, I would tighten the estimate to $960 to $1,440, including cleanup and disposal. That range assumes the work can be handled safely from the ground and that the fir only needs selective lower branch cutting. If the taller maples end up needing aerial access once we see them in person, the final price could be a bit higher, but from your description it sounds more likely this stays within the revised range.
