Hi Evelyne, Thanks for the details about the crab apple, lilac and the hedge. For the two ~10 ft trees we estimate 4 to 6 hours of ground-crew pruning work; at $240/hr that puts the base range at $960 to $1,440. Because the apple is old, producing lots of fruit, and the canopy is touching utility cables we add a risk and care buffer to the high end, bringing the quoted range to $960 to $1,800. Lower-end pricing applies if access is straightforward, fruit cleanup is minimal and work is limited to light scaling and cable clearance. Higher-end pricing applies if we need extra fruit removal, detailed pruning for long-term management, tight work near cables, neighbor coordination or more extensive cleanup. For the hedge I need its linear length, height and whether you want clippings hauled; as a standalone aesthetic trim we typically quote $500 to $900 depending on length, access and cleanup preference. Could you confirm whether the trees sit on the property line (need neighbor permission), clarify how close the electric line is, and send a few photos of the trees, cable interface and hedge? That will let me firm up a fixed price or we can arrange a quick site visit. We offer a short site visit to confirm scope and give a firm quote; no need for you to be home and we can schedule flexibly. Thanks, and feel free to give us a shout if you have any questions, Max, Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161

Hi Max, Thank you for the quote, really appreciate it. While I know having a professional service is expensive, this is beyond our budget at the moment and we can't move forward this fall but will be in touch in the future as we will need the service for sure. This gives me a starting point to talk with my neighbour also. I hope you have a great rest of your summer, Evelyne Le ven. 28 août 2026 à 18:55, Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service < info@calgarytreecareservice.ca> a écrit : > Hi Evelyne, > > Thanks for the details about the crab apple, lilac and the hedge. > > For the two ~10 ft trees we estimate 4 to 6 hours of ground-crew pruning > work; at $240/hr that puts the base range at $960 to $1,440. Hi Evelyne, Thanks for the kind note, and I completely understand. I appreciate you reaching out and taking the time to review the estimate. If you decide to revisit the work later on, just send me a message and we can pick it up from there. If it helps once you've spoken with your neighbour, feel free to send photos or any updated details and I can take another look at the scope with you. Wishing you a great rest of the summer as well.
