Hi Ann, Thanks for reaching out. We can do a health assessment and pruning of your columnar aspens and assess the Amur cherry. Per very large aspen (over 50 ft) for health assessment, pruning and deadwood removal I estimate $2,700–$6,750 each. The lower end assumes a single tree with good access and minimal deadwood; the higher end covers heavy deadwood, multiple stems, very close proximity to the house, precision rigging or multi-day work. For the Amur cherry I can remove the dead limb(s) and tidy the tree for about $360–$1,000, or fully remove the tree for about $720–$1,800. Lower ranges assume straightforward access; higher ranges cover difficult access, disposal or more complex rigging. Stump grinding is not included in these ranges and would be priced separately. To provide a firm fixed quote I need a few quick details: how many aspens are in the backyard, how close they sit to the house in feet, gate/side-yard access and any nearby powerlines. We recommend a short site visit to confirm scope and give a firm price; you do not need to be home and we can schedule quickly and flexibly. You indicated email is best; reply with the details above or some good times and I’ll book a quick visit. Thanks, and feel free to give us a shout if you have any questions, Max, Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161

Columnar aspens are over 20 years old, suckering, over 50 ft and sit close to the house; require health assessment and pruning. Amur cherry approx 35 ft with one section dead; needs either pruning/removal of the dead section or full tree removal.
