Hi Gerald, Thanks for the clear description. From what you wrote we can remove both trees and address the root issue, but because they are close to the foundation and over the water and sewer line this is higher risk work and needs careful planning. Indicative price range: $3,200 to $6,750. The lower end assumes trees are closer to medium size, good driveway access, and minimal root excavation. The higher end accounts for large limbs, extensive roots near the foundation or utilities, complex rigging, restricted access, or full root removal and grinding. To give an exact firm quote we need a quick site visit to confirm tree sizes, locate underground services, and check access. We can schedule fast and flexible visits and you do not need to be home. Preferred contact noted as phone. A few quick questions to help prep the visit: are there overhead power lines near the trees, do you want full root excavation or just stump grinding, and are there any known property or permit restrictions we should know about? Thanks, and feel free to give us a shout if you have any questions, Max, Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161

Large ~20 year old tree with root system heaving and raising above ground near house foundation and on same side as city water and sewer line. Second tall narrow poplar near foundation corner with poor health on lower 15 feet. Customer wants removal and to address/kill root structure.

THX for the quick response. No overhead lines at all. No public sidewalk our side of street, no driveway. The main trunk of larger trees is approx 12 - 14 inches, above limbs quite a bit narrower. Tree approx 35 to 40 feet in height. Would like the trunk ground down and the few visible above ground roots cut out and removed if possible. I also believe the neighbors tree roots are growing into my yard, as our property gradually a few feet lower than next door, and as I water and the renters next door do no watering whatsoever, so not sure if visible roots are mine or theirs. I have a great relationship with the owner of that neighboring house, so could possibly work out something if necessary. You are welcome to come by anytime, we are retired and home most of the time as well. Thank-you for your time, Regards, Gerald and Janice Bogner On Thu., Sep. 10, 2026, 12:57 p.m. Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service, < info@calgarytreecareservice.ca> wrote: > Hi Gerald, > > Thanks for the clear description. Hi Gerald, Thanks, that helps a lot. Based on the added details, it still sounds like this job is likely in the $3,200 to $5,200 range for removing both trees, cleanup and disposal, grinding the trunks down, and removing the visible above-ground roots where that can be done safely. The main things that still affect the final price are the access, how close the root system is to the foundation and city services, and how much of the exposed root material can reasonably be removed once we see it in person. If some of the visible roots are coming from the neighboring tree, we would want to be careful there as well. A quick site visit is still the best next step so we can firm this up properly. I have passed your request along, and the owner will contact you directly to coordinate a time. Best, Max Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161

Hi Gerald, Thanks, I appreciate the confirmation. I have passed this along to the owner, and they will contact you directly to coordinate the site visit and firm up the final quote. If anything changes in the meantime, or if you want to send photos of the trees and root area, feel free to reply here. Best, Max Calgary Tree Care & Arborist Service (587) 329-7161
