Hi Meaghan, Thanks for reaching out about planting a tree in your yard. I can help with species selection and the planting itself. Based on a small tree in a tight space, my estimate to supply and plant is $600 to $1,200. The lower end assumes easy access, a common small-tree species, minimal soil work and no underground complications. The higher end covers tight access, root barriers or excavation in confined spots, soil amendments, staking/protection, or any required permits or utility locating. To give an exact quote I just need a few quick details or photos of the planting spot, the exact dimensions of available space, sun exposure, proximity to structures or overhead wires, and whether you know of any underground services. I can also schedule a short site visit to confirm details and provide a firm quote; you do not need to be home for that and we can arrange fast, flexible timing. If you or your spouse can send over a few details about the spot, I can point you in the right direction. The most helpful details would be the approximate space available, how much sun the area gets, how close it is to the house, fence, sidewalk, or overhead wires, and what you are hoping for in the tree, for example shade, flowering, fall color, privacy, or low maintenance. Hi Meaghan, Thanks, the photos are helpful. That gives me a better sense of the area near the water barrel. To make sure I suggest trees that will actually fit the space well long term, could you send over a few quick details: Approximate width and depth of the planting area, how much sun it gets through the day, and what you are hoping for most in the tree, for example shade, flowering, fall color, or low maintenance. If you know roughly how close that spot is to the house, fence, or walkway, that would help too. Once I have that, I can send over a few species options that should suit the space.
